Chinese state-owned company advances $84bn US shale gas deal
HONG KONG -- As Washington and Beijing's tit-for-tat measures in their ongoing trade war continue to escalate, a major Chinese state-owned energy conglomerate has said it will honor the $83.7 billion shale gas deal agreed with the U.S. state of West Virginia last fall.
Shale Gas Expansion is Slowing
To be fair, not all shale gas drilling is slowing, but in the Permian Basin, which has seen the most incandescent growth in recent years, according to the Financial Times, growth is slowing markedly, according to Schlumberger, Halliburton and the U.K.’s Weir Group – all majors suppliers to, or active players in, the fracking industry.
